for hiring managers

Source candidates your team already vouches for

The best candidates are often one introduction away: former colleagues of your team, quietly open to a move. Searching by title alone misses who can vouch for them.

Try it on your network
Ask things like
  • “Who in my network would make a great senior engineer referral?”
  • “Which designers in my network are open to new roles?”
  • “Who worked with my team at their last company?”

How it works
  1. Describe the role the way you’d brief a recruiter.
  2. Get candidates with the teammate or connection who can vouch for them.
  3. Reach out through that person, not a cold InMail.

worked example

A senior platform hire, sourced through the team

Priya is hiring a senior platform engineer and wants candidates someone on her team can vouch for.

  1. She asks “Who in my network would make a great senior engineer referral?” and, on the team plan, “Who worked with my team at their last company?”
  2. Kevin, a Staff Engineer at Seabright, worked with two of her current engineers. Priya asks them for an honest read on Kevin before anyone reaches out.
  3. Jae posted last week that he’s open to new roles, so Priya messages him directly.
  4. Sam has been at Ramp for four years and isn’t looking. Priya asks their mutual connection for a low-pressure intro.

Result: Priya starts with three candidates, each with a teammate or connection who can speak to their work.

People, companies and numbers in this example are illustrative.

Are referred hires actually faster to hire?

Older Jobvite data reported by LinkedIn put the average at 29 days for referred hires, against 39 days from job boards and 55 from career sites.

Does Sniff search people outside my network?

Search covers your network and your network’s network. For someone further out, paste their LinkedIn profile and Sniff can research their public profile and activity.

How does it tell who might be open to a move?

It weighs public signals such as open-to-work activity, recent posts about job hunting, and time in their current role, alongside who on your team knows them.

Will candidates know I searched for them?

No. Sniff never contacts anyone. You decide who to reach out to and send the message yourself.

Your network already did the work. Time to use it.
